We were on our way home from Upstate New York when we stop in this visitor center. Beautiful place to stop. The staff are friendly and the view from the deck is so pretty. You can see the lake from here. The facilities is clean too. A great place to stop and stretch your legs and walk around.

We camped at Ives Run in the pine circle. Going in, we knew the circle was a little ways from the base campground. When we arrived, we found out that we were over a mile out. While this was not the biggest deal, it was still odd. The only “bathroom” was an outhouse, that was absolutely disgusting, smelled terrible with no place to wash your hands and was filled with bugs. When showering, the big shower house (in the main campground) was also disgusting and in need of some serious upgrades for both privacy and functionality. There was one small shower house that was actually clean and worked nicely. The actual campsite we stayed on was not very flat, and the grass was quite high. The lake was the only great thing about the place. It is very quiet and calm. Great place to kayak and okay place to fish.

So disappointing. My family and I drove here to spend the day. The bathrooms were disgusting, over flowing toliets and infested with bees. We walked down to the swim area and it was roped off. The website didn't say anything about the water being contaminated with toxic alge. Will never go back.
